A clear project brief helps Engalen Studios understand the creative goal, technical requirements, and practical limits of the work before production begins. Use the outline below when preparing a visual-effects, compositing, or video-editing enquiry.
1. Project Overview
- Project or production title
- Type of production: film, short, trailer, commercial, documentary, online video, or other
- Brief description of the story, scene, or intended audience
- The result you need from Engalen Studios
2. Scope of Work
- Number of shots, scenes, sequences, or approximate running time
- Required services: cleanup, object removal, screen replacement, compositing, visual effects, editing, or finishing
- Known problem areas or technically difficult shots
- Whether the work is a single task or part of a larger production
3. Source Material
- Camera format, resolution, frame rate, and codec when known
- Available footage, plates, graphics, audio, reference images, or project files
- Whether files are camera originals, proxies, graded footage, or edited exports
- Any missing elements that still need to be created or supplied
4. Creative Direction
- The intended visual style, mood, and level of realism
- Reference films, images, sequences, or examples
- Elements that must remain unchanged
- Specific continuity, performance, or storytelling priorities
5. Schedule and Review
- Desired start date and final deadline
- Important production milestones
- Who will review and approve the work
- Preferred method for notes, revisions, and file exchange
6. Final Delivery
- Required resolution, frame rate, codec, colour space, and file format
- Whether layered project files or final rendered files are required
- Any platform, broadcaster, festival, or distributor specifications
